Metro Mumbai – Completion of LVT block mass production

The targeted production of LVT blocks for the Metro Mumbai has been completed as scheduled. The highly efficient production in the L&T manufacturing facilities in Mumbai has led to the successful completion of the LVT block production, which was anticipated by mid-2022.

Despite the uncertainties in the goods’ supply chain over the globe since the beginning of 2022, Sonneville and its contractual local partner in India, Larsen & Toubro, have accomplished the project goals. Over 190,000 LVT blocks have been produced locally, including the blocks for the turnout sections.

At the same time, the track installation in the tunnel of Metro Mumbai is currently in full swing. The team of Sonneville is permanently overseeing the installation in the tunnel and assisting the site engineers during the track laying.
